Let's do some math on the network one could build over our working lives - if you met 1 new person every single day over 55 years, that would be 20,000 people. Now, you and I know that this kind of run rate usually doesn't happen, and so this would really be best case scenario.
If you have a look at your Facebook or LinkedIn network, what's the number - 500 to 1000? (not to be confused with Followers).
If you think of this proportion as to the number of people that are there in this world, it is astonishingly small.
And so here's a thought - when you meet new folks or see folks present around you, you have to believe that they have come into your life for a reason. These are a handful who have entered your tiny eco system through life's design.
So shouldn't you be paying more attention to them? Shouldn't you be looking at creating some magic together?
Come next week, I am gonna be walking around and saying hello - I shall start with the ladies first.
